The service was resumed on March 20, 2020, between Kamaishi (Iwate) and Rikuchū-yamada (Iwate) stations on the Sanriku Railway Rias Line, which had been cut off due to Typhoon 19 in 2019.
The Rias line was suffered a number of damage to tracks and tunnels, and has resumed operation sequentially from the section where it was restored. After the restoration of the last section, operation was resumed on all line.
