The station name of Tōjiin station (Kyoto, B8) on Randen Kitano line has been changed to ‘Tōjiin-Ritsumeikan University (等持院・立命館大学衣笠キャンパス前) station’ on March 20, 2020.
Keifuku Electric Railway incorporated the university name into the station name in the wake of a partnership and cooperation agreement with Ritsumeikan University, which is located across the famous temple, Tojiin. As a result, the longest station name in Japan with 26 readings in Japanese was born.
